Falls Creek Waterfall Trail

Trail: Falls Creek Waterfall Trail

Length: AllTrails says 2.1 miles, my Fitbit tracked around 3 miles

Difficulty: Strenuous

Distance from Charlotte NC: about 2 hours

Features: a waterfall

Trail Tip: parking for this trail is extremely limited. There are three actual parking spots and a very small stretch where cars can park on the side of the road. If you are making a trip here I would suggest arriving early so you do not drive all the way to the trail head and have to wait for someone to leave to park your car.

Falls Creek Waterfall Trail is an absolute gem located in Slater-Marietta South Carolina. The waterfall is one of the largest and most beautiful waterfalls that I have seen in person. The trail is not heavily trafficked, I am not sure if it is not widely known or if we hit it at a good time, but we had the waterfall almost completely to ourselves on a Sunday afternoon. If you have been to any of the popular waterfall hikes near Charlotte you know that it’s common to barely be able to see the waterfall with all of the people who are usually there. The hike itself has some very difficult portions that are almost completely vertical. Below is an example of one of the strenuous sections.

This hike is very rewarding and was a good hike to ease us back into more strenuous hikes. We took a lot of time off for various reasons last year and are looking to build our stamina again. I hope you visit this trail and get to experience the magic for yourself! Keep exploring friends!
